Forester hunting ankle boots are made of waterproof nubuck/cowhide leather. The PU/PU sole provides very good grip and cushioning. The boots feature an STX breathable membrane, which wicks moisture out of the boot.
The inside is lined with spacer fabric. Season of use: spring/summer/autumn.
Upper material: nubuck/cowhide leather
Leather colour: brown
Membrane: STX
Many years of experience with various breathable membranes have allowed Demar to develop two different membrane systems: STX and LTX.
Depending on the type and construction of the footwear, the type of lining or even the type of sole, Demar designers decide which of the LTX or STX systems is the most optimal and suitable for a given model.
Both solutions strike an ideal balance between the waterproofness and breathability of the membrane. Regardless of the membrane system used (STX or LTX), the user can be sure that DEMAR hunting footwear will be waterproof and breathable.
Characteristics of the STX system
For footwear to be fully waterproof and at the same time breathable (vapour-permeable), it must be fitted with a membrane. There are no waterproof leathers on the market, only leathers with limited water resistance. Even the best of them do not guarantee that the shoes will not let water in after a few hours of walking on wet ground. It is the membrane that guarantees the waterproofness and breathability of footwear.
The STX bootie membrane is a laminate of membrane and lining, from which a sock-shaped element is sewn, then inserted into the boot and stitched in. The STX membrane ensures waterproofness only wh Advantages of the STX system
can be used in most footwear constructions
cheaper to produce
Disadvantages of the STX system
water that has penetrated the leather may remain inside the boot, increasing its weight and reducing breathability.
Technical data of the STX system:
PU/PTFE/PES membrane and PES carrier
water vapour permeability*: min. 3.0mg/cm2h;
waterproofness*: min. 1000cmH2O
